ECU has joined one of the largest training program on distributed generation for leaders of Ukrainian communities –140+ participants, 13 regions, 24 hours of intensive, high-impact learning. The program is supported by the Government of Germany and GIZ.
Our core mission is to help communities launch their own energy projects faster, more efficiently, and with predictable economic outcomes. This creates a powerful opportunity to both accelerate the recovery of the energy system and strengthen its long-term resilience through economically viable solutions.
As part of the program, the ECU team is guiding participants through real-life case studies on developing local generation, including:
- selecting the most effective operating modes for energy equipment;
- choosing optimal market models and navigating regulatory requirements;
- understanding how active consumers, aggregation, and balancing groups function, and how economic outcomes are calculated across different energy market segments.
The project is delivered within the SUR initiative – a German program that supports community resilience, implemented by GIZ. The training program is led by the NGO “International Foundation of Development.”
Distributed generation is shaping a new paradigm for the energy system. With the support of international partners, we are working to ensure these solutions are not only reliable, but also economically sustainable for communities.
